The New Moon arrives in the early hours of July 14, and we're gathering the night before, in that quiet darkness just before the sky begins again. It's one of the most potent moments in the lunar cycle for planting seeds. And this one lands in Cancer, the sign of nourishment, intuition, emotional depth, and care.
The mahina has always guided us here in Hawaiʻi. New beginnings. Spiritual renewal. The kind of reset that happens when you finally give yourself permission to stop and breathe.
So here's a thought: what if the intention you set this new moon was simply to take care of yourself?
Not a lofty life goal. Not a five-year plan. Just showing up for yourself, in community, for one evening. Letting your nervous system remember what it feels like to be held.

By popular request, we're continuing the faery magic. After the success of our Faery Doors evening, we're keeping the enchantment going with faery lanterns. The kind of soft, glowing light that feels like it belongs in a garden at dusk. We'll guide you through the process from start to finish. No art skills required, just a willingness to get a little glue on your fingers and have fun with it.
We'll also have a few faery doors on hand if you'd like to paint one to match your lantern. A sweet way to round out your little faery world.
Bring a friend, bring your favorite bottle to share, and settle in for a relaxed evening of conversation, creativity, and a little bit of whimsy.

How to breathe when things feel big. How to shake off what doesn't feel good. How to sit with themselves — even just for a few minutes — and feel okay.
Sunday Funday is back, and we're bringing the whole ʻohana in. This is a 60–90 minute class designed for keiki and the adults who love them, moving through it all together. No experience needed. Just show up as you are.

The Buck Moon in Aquarius asks you to stop and take stock. Not just of what you're doing, but of how you're doing. What's been carrying you this month? What's ready to be set down?
Aquarius is the sign of the collective: the community, the ʻohana, the people we're doing this life alongside. And Leo, where the Sun sits tonight in full summer strength, reminds us that we can't pour from an empty cup. The two work together here: show up for yourself, so you can show up for each other.

LION'S GATE PORTAL 8/8

Some dates just carry weight.
August 8th is one of them. Every year the 8/8 portal marks the peak alignment of the Sun in Leo, the star Sirius, Orion's Belt, and Earth. A celestial doorway tied to the star Sirius, whose rising ancient Egyptians celebrated as the start of a new year, a time of renewal, abundance, and new life. But 2026 is different. This year the full date: 8.8.2026 reduces to a Triple-8 in numerology. Three eights. Infinity, abundance, and manifestation, amplified three times over. And sitting just days after the peak, a Solar Eclipse in Leo arrives on August 12th, making this entire week a threshold unlike anything we've experienced in recent years.
This is not a regular event. We're not treating it like one.
We're opening the evening with heart-opening cacao. Cracking the heart wide before we set our intentions for what we're calling in. From there, we move into a mini workshop on manifestation, working with the specific energies of this portal to clarify your vision and send it out with purpose. Strawberry Full Moon in Capricorn Gathering

The Strawberry Full Moon rises in Capricorn on the night of June 29 — and this one sits on a threshold.
The clear-channel window we set intentions in two weeks ago officially closes tonight. Mercury stations retrograde the same day this moon goes full, beginning a season of slowing down, looking back, and tying up loose ends. The fog rolls in.
But the very next day, Jupiter enters Leo — a thirteen-month chapter of expansion in creativity, joy, leadership, and self-expression. A new sun rises right behind this one.
So this full moon is a doorway. Capricorn asks what you've built on someone else's expectations — and what's ready to come down. Cancer (the sun's seat tonight) asks where you've been over-giving at home and under-tending the self. The moon between them asks for honest release.
In the Hawaiian Kaulana Mahina, we're still within Kaʻaona, the malama (not to be confused with mālama) that rolls across June and July. At the full moon, Kaʻaona's "pleasantly rolling along" abundance reaches its peak. The bright nights around a full moon are traditionally called nā pō mahina kōnane — the nights of the bright moon — when the sky is clear enough to see by moonlight alone.
A Strawberry Moon. A Micromoon, soft and small, but no less potent. A threshold to cross.
Come release what's complete. Make room for what's next. Mālama the self before the fog rolls in and the new sun rises.
The Experience

The New Moon in Gemini rises on the night of June 14 — a clear-channel moment before the fog rolls in.
Two weeks after this new moon, Mercury goes retrograde. That means this is the last open window for a while to set intentions with a steady signal, before communication and decisions get a little hazy. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, so this is doubly significant. A moon for clarity. For breath. For asking what you actually want to say, learn, or open up to in the weeks ahead.
In the Hawaiian Kaulana Mahina, this new moon falls within Kaʻaona — the malama (not to be confused with mālama) that rolls across June and July. Saturday, June 6 • 6:00–8:00 PM (linger as long as you'd like)
You asked. We listened. The faery doors are back.
There's something about making a tiny door that you don't think about as an adult. Where does it go? Who lives behind it? Are you actually building a portal? We're not asking you to answer any of that. We're just asking you to come paint one (or several, if time permits).
We'll have pre-made wooden faery doors, paints, brushes, and a whole spread of embellishments waiting for you at the table. Moss, gems, tiny trinkets, the works. Your job is to show up and make something a little bit magical. No artistic experience needed. Truly.
Wine and mocktails will be flowing. Pupu too. We're keeping the evening unhurried with no strict end time, so settle in. Stay as long as your faery door takes.
This one is adults only. We're nourishing the inner child with grown-up beverages, which feels like exactly the right combination.

May gave us two full moons. The first one rose on May 1st while we were getting ready for the Body Mind Spirit Expo. This one, we're not missing.
The Blue Moon in Sagittarius closes out a month that's been quietly building. If you were with us for the New Moon in Taurus on the 16th, you planted seeds. You got grounded. You got honest about what you're building and what needs to go. Tonight, the Blue Moon illuminates what's ready to bloom and what still needs to be released.
A Blue Moon is the second full moon in a single calendar month. It happens roughly once every two and a half years. "Once in a blue moon" isn't just a saying. It's real. And it means what you bring to this gathering carries a little extra weight. Intentions set and things released under a Blue Moon don't come around on this timing again anytime soon.

This isn't something we pulled out of thin air. Our community asked for it. People who've been coming to our moon gatherings and sound baths kept saying the same thing — I wish this didn't have to end. So we made something that doesn't. Not for a while, anyway.
The idea is simple and it's ancient. There's something that shifts when you commit to staying in a healing space through the entire night — when you stop watching the clock and just let yourself be held by sound, light, frequency, and community. You go in one person. You come out different. Not fixed — just more yourself.
We chose Memorial Day weekend on purpose. You'll finish at sunrise on Sunday and have the rest of the day plus Monday to rest, integrate, and come back to the world slowly. No rushing back to anything.
What the night holds:
The evening begins the way all our gatherings do — grounding, connecting, settling in. Burn ceremony. Drum circle. A cacao offering to open the heart and let the week fall away.
From there, the night unfolds naturally. We don't follow a rigid schedule — we go with the flow and with how everyone in the room is feeling. But here's what we'll move through over the course of the night:

During the night, Kim will offer each person their Nakshatra Birthstar Mantra — a sacred, personal mantra based on the star constellation at the moment you were born. This isn't something you look up online. It's given 1:1, rooted in deep training in mantras and sacred sounds through the davidji Academy. Kim is the only certified Nakshatra Birthstar Mantra teacher on Oʻahu.
She'll open with a group blessing and the Shanti Mantra, then meet with each person individually. You'll carry your mantra through the rest of the night — and home with you after.
How the night moves:
The evening is about arriving — letting go of whatever you walked in with. As the night deepens, so does the work. The midnight hours are where things get quiet and expansive — the sound, the light, the breathwork all take you further inward. By the pre-dawn hours, you're somewhere most people never get to in a two-hour session. And then the sun comes up. You made it through the night. That means something.

This is a 90-minute workshop for anyone who's been curious about meditation but wasn't sure where to start, or anyone who's had a practice and just needs a space to come back to it. No experience necessary. No right way to sit. No requirement to "clear your mind" of every thought. (That's not really how it works anyway.)
We'll walk you through the foundations: grounding, focused breathing, and energetic protection. Then we'll guide you into a metta meditation, the ancient practice of loving-kindness. Metta is about sending compassion outward into the world and inward to yourself. With everything happening right now, both feel equally important.
Meditation isn't about perfection. It's about practice. You learn to notice when thoughts come in and gently release them, the same way you learn to navigate anything else in life. You don't run a marathon without first walking around the block. Start where you are. That's enough.

Taurus doesn't rush. It roots. This is the most grounded, earthy New Moon of the year, asking us to slow down, come back to our senses, and plant seeds for the things that actually matter.
